E.ON Next’s tariffs are all powered by 100% renewable electricity. All the energy used for business and home tariffs is sourced using renewable generation assets, and supply agreements with independent UK wind generators, while also purchasing renewable electricity certificates.
Renewable energy certificates, or Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs), are certificates that prove the electricity E.ON Next uses comes from renewable sources. An energy generator is given one REGO for each megawatt hour of electricity it produces. 100% of E.ON Next’s electricity comes from either wind, solar or hydro.
Essentially, E.ON Next makes sure the energy they take from the national grid is produced using renewable sources, and the REGO certificates ensure that this is the case. They also own biomass plants in Lockerbie and Sheffield, which together create enough energy to power 100,000 homes in the UK.
E.ON’s help page is extremely easy to navigate, with all the vital information you could possibly need to be laid out neatly in easy-to-read, easy-on-the-eye tiles.
Behind each tile is a detailed copy designed to help you through your struggles, along with a number to phone if necessary and FAQs to help you solve your issue yourself.
There are also various videos created by the team at E.ON Next if further help is needed, where they talk you through various topics, such as managing your direct debit, and why bills go up and down with a fixed tariff.
A community forum is also available, where E.ON customers can go to see if anyone else can answer their woes.
